Are you an engineering student looking for a hands-on, real-world internship?

Ag Processing Inc. (AGP) is offering paid Summer Engineering Internships at our Soy Processing, Oil Refinery, and Methyl Ester facilities across Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota.

This is an opportunity to work on a real project with measurable impact—improving safety, efficiency, or cost performance at one of our facilities. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals and see your project move from planning to implementation.

Housing assistance is available for interns who relocate for the summer.

Internship At a Glance

  • Position: Summer Engineering Intern
  • Duration: Approximately 10 weeks
  • Timing: May–August
  • Locations: Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota
  • Schedule: Day shift (example: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm) 
  • Compensation: $25 per hour
  • Housing: AGP paid housing for relocating interns 

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Intern, you’ll take ownership of a project while gaining experience in plant operations, engineering, and project management.

You will:

  • Lead a real engineering project focused on plant safety, efficiency, or cost improvement
  • Create and edit engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Navisworks
  • Work with contractors, consulting firms, and vendors to keep projects moving forward
  • Collaborate with management to identify and implement operational and safety improvements
  • Support and oversee project construction
  • Partner with plant operations staff to bring your project from planning to completion

What You’ll Learn

During the internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience with:

  • Engineering projects in an active production environment
  • Project planning and execution

  • Construction and contractor coordination
  • Plant operations and process improvement
  • Safety and operational improvement
  • Communication and collaboration with engineering, operations, and management teams

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Completion of sophomore or junior year coursework in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Technology, Bio Systems, Agricultural Engineering, or a similar technical field
  • Availability to work approximately 10 weeks between May and August
  • Interest in working in a production plant environment
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Professional and positive attitude
