Position: Media Content Summer Intern

Department: AE Media

Reporting to: Associate Director of Television Initiatives 

Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite

Overview: 

As a Media Content Summer Intern, you'll dive into the dynamic world of TV and radio content development, organization, and dissemination. Working closely with our Media Content Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting various projects through research, compliance coordination, writing tasks, and managing email correspondence with clients. You'll also have the chance to tackle special assignments and production tasks, making every day an exciting new challenge. What you’ll do: In this section, keep it simplistic & make it REAL. The focus is to paint a day to day picture of what someone would be accomplishing in this role. Refrain from using industry jargon or AE terminology, put it in layman’s terms as best as you can. Pick 3-5 main aspects of the position and bullet out. Prioritize list according to the duties done most to least. 

• Assists Media Content Specialist in maintaining content library for both radio and TV platforms
• Helps with researching retirement articles and facts, and maintaining database of sources
• Implements compliance revisions in scripts
• Prepare/personalize scripts for upcoming TV and/or radio productions
• Reviews produced radio and TV content as needed
• Assist TV production team with TV shoots as needed
• Assist TV and Radio production teams as needed

Experience you’ll bring:

• Familiarity with broadcast writing style
• PC proficiency 
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to professionally communicate with clients via email, phone, and in-person
• Ability to meet deadlines and keep pace in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to working independently but also as a collaborative team member
• Professional approach and appearance

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media, Marketing, Journalism, or another related field
