This job is part time for money. The job can be done outside of school hours. Our workshop is just ½ mile south of UMKC, Rockhurst, and we are located on major bus lines to downtown. The job can adjust to your exam weeks schedule.
You will assay like a boss, and ready these new antimicrobials for government approval, and for consumer sales.
You will perform these activities and more :
Perform very simple chemical reduction to assemble the precursors into antimicrobial heterojunctions
Ready standard microbiology lab equipment like incubator, autoclave, microscope, computer
Perform diffusion assays according to CLSI
Record results of assays
Fill out standard E.P.A. and state government forms to apply for antimicrobial distribution
You have completed more than 3 years of college, or are very tenacious and are completing 3 years of college.
You understand basic assay practise and can follow CLSI instructions for assay.
You have a basic understanding of assay equipment and consumables used for assay.
You have a basic understanding of microscope use and can familiarize with our use of ImageJ software for colony counting.
You are a self starter and have a strong desire to learn and improve your microbiology skills.
Our workshop is just down the street from University of Missouri Kansas City and Rockhurst University. We are in a commercial building across from the AutoZone on 63rd off Troost and Forest.
